A summary, not legal advice.

WHY IT MATTERS

Players for downloaded music look and behave differently on every device. Vynody aims to give Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android the same experience.

BUILD FROM THIS

  • Auto-filled tags and artwork (AcoustID, MusicBrainz), LRCLIB lyric search, AI-generated word-by-word lyrics, LAN sync of tracks and playlists, connections to Navidrome, Jellyfin, WebDAV and SMB, and a live spectrum display.

WHO IT'S FOR

People who listen to their own music files instead of streaming.

# Get the build for your device from the repository's Releases; Microsoft Store and App Store (macOS, iOS) versions also exist.

CAVEATS

  • Licensed GPL-3.0. The author says it was built with AI-assisted 'vibe coding', and it is a young project with about 130 stars. Which service powers the AI lyric generation is not stated in the README.
